Boy Racers

Why do boy racers lean to one side whilst driving? Do they think it makes them look sporty?

I lean on the window and steer with one hand, always have, mind you, that is cos i only drive Autos and there isn't a gear stick. I don't look sporty at all though, sometimes i can look almost glamorous, especially if I have my Gucci sunglasses on.

i, unfortunatley, was a boy racer in my youth.

i used to wonder myself why i leaned to one side, or pushed my head forward when i accelerated.

ironicly, i went to motorbikes and didnt lean as much???

It's so they can avoid looking anyone in the eye. After all they don't want to risk being recognised when they've just nicked the car!

haha, I forgot about the leaning forward when accelerating. I think it makes the car go faster ;-)

And going off the topic... Why do young lads always stand feet apart with their one hand inside their trousers? Do they think they actually look "cool"?

let me just clear something up..........

i was a boy racer in cars i paid for, i have never stolen a car (or anything) in my life.

i think the word is joy rider you was looking for gammaray and laurence2!!!

Of all the things that boy racers do this has to be the least annoying (fog lights for example!).
To be honest in defense of boy racers they are usually pretty competent drivers and generally stay within the law because they are such a visible target for the rozzers.
There are far worse drivers on the road and their cars are usually better maintained and more roadworthy than your average minicab for example.
Leave boy racers alone!
ps. no before you ask i was never a boy racer!

i think they are running a script in their minds like "warp speed!" and "pneooowwwm", thinking they are either race car drivers or flying a plane or spaceship. they are imagining they are being watched (or filmed for new star wars scene or something) and want to look cool
