Need help looking for 1 bed garden flat in London

Hi there,

Me and my partner and are in the process of moving to London and we are trying to find somewhere to rent in the Highbury/Islington area or anywhere relatively near Cockfosters (30 mins on tube or less).

What are the nice areas to live and also are there any private ad websites we can have a look at apart from Loot? We would like to rent privately as it seems very costly with letting agents.

Any help would be appreciated.

I wonder whether the local paper for Highbury and Islington might be helpful? It is called "Ham & High" I think.

the local paper for islington is the islington gazette, the ham and high is for hampstead and highgate, and rents there tend to be very high
