Speaking like a chav?

Why is it that some people (young and old) from all areas around the UK, think its necessary to speak like a complete ar*se. "IS IT" CAN I AKS YA!" and slurring all their words like they cant move there lips...

Is it just me that this annoys or is there anyone else out there that feels like this.

I can't stand it when people say 'aks' rather than 'ask'. It doesn't make any sense at all.

my biggest hatred is the word DA. All the kids use it. makes me mad thinking about it!!! Grrrrrrrr is that chavvy or just kids stuff?

Don't even begin to get me started on this subject.

I have a son of 14, he has been brought up to speak correctly but just at the moment he sounds like some Rapper from the Bronx. I seem to spend my evening correcting him on how he is talking.

I can't stand hearing him talk to his friends. Thank god most of the conversations are done on MSN.

I soooo hope its just a passing phase.

I think a lot of people now talk with US/Australian influence. Either talking as though asking a question (voice goes up at end of a sentence, even when not asking a question) or talking like a US rapper - Tim Westwood is a prime example, but his roots are from a white middle class Norfolk background and his father was a bishop! Hardly the bronx eh? Or should I say, ayyyyyyyyyye.

THECORBYLOON, i am NOT referring to dialect but the slang that the kids use when talkng to one another, mainly on MSN! My son uses it all the time as do all his mates and they do not use it because it is their dialect. I think you're missing the point. I also say something thats been put on here because of me being Leicester born and bred. I didn't take offence to it though because i can tell the difference!!!!!!!!! Flip-Flop has got the reason spot on!!!! Too much 50cent and the like!!!!!
