Why do men lie?

Before anyone asks no im not posting this because i feel bitter. Im honestly just curious. Men treat woman all nice and everything then BAM, they lie! Why cant men just be upfront?

I quess what i should have written was "Why do some men lie?"

Yes of course i have lied to guys in the past (nobody is a saint after all :OP ) but they have been little white lies. What i was more talking about was the big lies. As for the people saying women moan and nag then thats a 'sweeping statement' too! ;O) Ill have you know that like Champagne, i too am a very laid back and chilled out person!

So...Why do some guys tell big fat juicy lies?

sorry MsBehave, i didn't mean to sound uptight,because i'm really not! I'm not lying, honestly!!!! lol ;-) i just don't think all men tell lies. Ok some do, and i think it is all to do with us being a lot more complicated, if thats the right word, than them! they find it easier to dig themselves out with a lie rather than having to go into other details.I once had a bloke call off a date because he had to babysit his grans dog cause it was gonna thunder and and it would be frightened!!!!! That way his way of ending the whole relationship.Have you ever heard anything like it????.I would much rather he had just told me the truth! I think, they think if they make up some excuse like that, we won't question it as readily as just saying for example, i don't wanna see you anymore! I do believe some men tend to think we are exceptionally gullible though. Saying all that though, i have done a similar, if not so far fetched thing to avoid hurting feelings.What sort of lies have you been told?

I once lied to Alkela that my parents couldn't afford the 2-bob subs, hence it was necessary for me to leave the cubs. My life has been on a downward spiral ever since.
