The last time I went to King Alfred's was back in the 60s. I'm pretty sure it is closed now. Didn't it get taken over as Brighton Leisure Centre?. Google doesn't come up with any hits for bowling at Brighton Leisure Centre unless you mean a 'bowling green'?
The Imperial Hotel is actually in Hove, on the seafront and as Kempie says, it is about 3 miles to the marina which is at the east end of Brighton.

Hope teamcool got his night out sorted.
As an aside: the bowling alley at King Alfred's closed years ago but KA itself still exists - it's now a leisure pool. There's a row brewing locally over plans to redevlop it: the council can't afford to pay for it itself and is looking for a private developer to build the leisure centre and a block of flats - much to the dismay of Hove residents.
