The chap over the road from me was quite high up in the magic circle and Paul Daniels popped round in his Jag E-Type with his lovely wife Debbie McGee.... as kids we were awstruck... hovering outside the front door trying to get a glimpse of him. He eventually popped his head out of the door and invited us all in (about 7 of us) for some squash and biscuits, done some card tricks for us and was really a top bloke!

Before that, I thought he was rubbish and all his magic was done through TV trickery...

When i worked in a coffee shop Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw, Corrie) came in when we didn't have what she wanted she pulled a face and got a bit shirty,got something else and sat in the corner facing a wall, a diva-wish-i-was.

Also saw Maxine Peak while out shopping and my son pointed and shouted "thats her out of shameless" i said sorry to her and she just smiled and gave him a little wave.

I have to agree with the Ronnie Corbett experiences. I am a florist, and years ago I worked in one just round the corner from the Corbetts house..anyway they came in & started to cause mayhem with an order.

He was an arrogant little ***** & me being quite young got a bit upset...I called my boss who came through from the back & asked Mrs Corbett what the problem was. She started to rant and Mr Corbett asked the boss 'Don't you know who I am?' to which my boss replied

''Yes I do ~ and even if you were the Queen I would ask you to leave my shop because even her **** stinks!''

I have also met Dennis Waterman ~ not nearly as sweet as he is on Little Britain ;o) not that I ever admired him in the first place. I suppose this is a good reason not to meet anyone you admire? a friend of mine met Tom Cruise & said he was a treasure..but I have heard conflicting reports about him!

Saxy Jag, Father Ted has an episode where this cheesy irish singer is loved by women of a certain age but off stage is about as warm as permafrost and very childish. Daniel O'Donnell? you decide.

No bad stories LaLa but I once met Leslie Crowther about 20 years ago. He was signing autographs in a tyre place in Tooting SW London whilst I was on my way to play snooker. I was about 12. What this poor man was doing there I dont know, there was no-one there and I couldnt see what the point was. Anyway he was dressed immaculately and as i cagily asked him for an autograph he sat me down, asked me about snooker and my family and school and gave me a memory that still warms me to this day. A true pro and sorely missed.

I met ex World Middleweight Champion Alan Minter on Xmas Day 2005 in my local boozer. Another gent and happily posed for photos.

I also met Chris Eubank some years ago and found him utterly charming.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper and tv personalty Bob Wilson never refuses an autograph. I met David Seaman and he was excellent and Fun. My sister met Sol Campbell and he had a face on him when she asked for an autograph ( spurs fans used to say the same thing)

I met Mick Jagger but never had a pen on me but worse a few years back at Arsenal, my mate asked me would I like a picture with a Arsenal player and I replied, he is only a reserve...it was Thierry Henry....idiot

I delivered recording equipment over 12 years to dozens of well known (some very famous) people and the nicest one of the lot was Buster Bloodvessel from Bad Manners.

Emerton, i met Buster Bloodvessel last year, briefly. They played a gig at our local shopping centre but we had already missed them by the time we got there. Anyway, they came back on later on even though they weren't booked for it and gave the greatest show ever.They performed about 10 songs and were fantastic and posed for loads of photos afterwards, really nice!
