SS Canadian Farmer???

Hello People

I am doing my family tree, and yesterday someone asked me if I knew anything about the SS Canadian Farmer which was a cargo boat around 1900. The Captain was a J P Sharp, I am having difficulty finding anything about this ship, and I can't find anything about the captain, anyone got any ideas??

I've just googled ss canadian farmer and it would appear to be a passenger ship around 1881 taking people from Europe to New York.

List of immigrant ships http://www.fortunecity.com/littleitaly/amalfi/13/shipc.htm has no SS Canadian Farmer (does have a 'Canada', sailing around 1881 as above, though) and the Ship List - a directory of sailings with shipping lines and ships - http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/lines/index.htm has none listed on their database.
