Fancy Dress for a 3-Year Old?

Hi all, hoping you can help me! My nephew (who's 3) is going to a fancy-dress party next week, and his Mummy's stuck for costume ideas! Can anyone help? My sister's very artistic, so it doesn't matter if a bit of work's involved! Thanks!

my friends daughter dressed up as shrek for a party, we painted her face green, used a bald head and used tampon tubes with blue-tack on the end painted green for his ears!!!

is a smurf a bit too old school - i remember being amazed by the kid at a fancy dress part who came as a smurf - completely blue - brilliant!!!

Ahhhhh....he would look so cute as a smurf!! I might just dress him up like that for everyday - I'm sure my sister'd understand ;)

Noddy is quite an easy one to make, or Rupert Bear (if you can find the right material).
