The wife of a King has the title of Queen. The husband of a Queen is known as her 'Consort'. If he was given the title of King he would be 'higher' than she is.

If a man marries the Queen he does not become King, but if I woman marries a King she becomes Queen :-)
A queen is the correct term for an adult female cat ! (Mastermind - yesterday)
