Last night I checked both the bbc and itv weather websites. Neither mentioned rain in Manchester today. I know they can be fairly vague but come on, they must have a bit of an idea. They are sooo crap! The picture indicating todays weather was a sun & white cloud but it poured down!

hiya susanlisa they said its was going to be lovley here in the northeast but its teaming down on the sites i looked at for my area it was a big yellow sun!! its no good complaining cos they only say we cant get it right all the time!!!!
Well in the South there was supposed to be a thunderstorm at 7pm and I've been sitting in the garden with a glass of wine talking to Fluffy the bunny! The suns still shining here.
I'm not defending the weather forecasts, but, for example, thunderstorms can be so localised.

Where I live, at 7.00am yesterday I could hear thunder rumbling in the distance, but we had no rain.

Just 8 miles away the rain was so torrential, Radio 2 were giving warnings to drivers in the area, whereas i drove to work along dry roads.

In circumstances like this I don't think you can blame the weather people, although, yes, they do get it spectaculary wrong at times.

eg 'Hurricane, what hurricane?'
I use AccuWeather online, it's very good for regional weather.
I saw the BBC local weather for the North West tonight and Diane did mention that they hadn't realised that todays rain would come this far north. All those satellites and computers and stuff and they still don't really know!
And norfolk wasn't supposed to rain till tonight instead it belted down dinnertime and stopped till thunder arrived a little while ago,the forecast actually said fine and sunny all day, they NEVER get it right,,,,,,,,,,,,,no,actually i Do remember once,!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always use Accuweather

Brilliant and 99% right ...they predicted a downpour here on the east coast of Norfolk this morning and were right to the minute practically .Give them a try .
Surely there's no need to mention rain in Manchester - it is a foregone conclusion.
