Just got back from Blackpool, our b & b was advertised as having a pool table, when we arrived there was no pool table, when we questioned the owner about it ,he said health & safety regulations had required him to provide a no smoking room & so he'd had to split the room in two ( not a recent renovation) We had booked with this facility as a deciding factor, how do they get away with it ? Also , why do so many b & b s think we like to crane our necks to watch there poxy t.v's? why do they feel the need to put them so high on the wall? What are your experiences, any gripes ?

End up staying in a pub on the front where my boyfriend won the weekend Tote (160) we came second in the music quix (30) and won a barrel of bear (party 7 size) in a raffle. I think the locals were glad to see the back of us after that but were really nice to us whilst we were there. Seafront's a bit tacky, but thats what you expect from Blackpool!!
If the b&b stated they had a pool table and you had booked on the strength of that then a good landlord would offer you some kind of freebie to appease you. At the very least, a round of drinks from his bar (if he has one) or a few quid off your bill - its his fault his advertising wasn't up to date - not yours.
Thanks, Kev/ Ian /ali / Dollie for your feedback! I didn't tell the landlord I had booked because he had a pool table, but the fact is ,he had listed this as a facility in his advertisement & it was dissapointing to find out otherwise! A lesson learned is never to take things as read & always check before paying your deposit.
