The above Gentleman, who went to Gloucester. Who was he and how did his name, and exploit, enter the world of Nursery Rhyme?
I read your page about Ride a **** Horse and found it most interesting. Again, one is inclined to ask how the activities of a person is able to enter the world of literature like that?
If the subject had been a person of note (Royalty, Duke, Lord, Cleric, etc.) one could accept the possibility/probability of their activities being duly recorded, but a lesser person???

Thank you for that information.
It must have been one heck of a deep puddle.
It's truly extraordinary how a simple ditty like that has lasted so many years while most of today's "Pop" material, which could be considered to be roughly equivalent, will be forgotten by the end of next week (thankfully and hopefully)..

Thanks for your comment. I checked out the Wikipedia site and found it quite interesting.
I found what I considered to e an error in the page about **** Robin but I'm blowed if I can see how to let trhem know about it. I tried hitting edit but just didn't seem to be able to get any response, any way at all.
Perhaps that's because my knowledge about computers doesn't extend much past the "ON" button.
