London road where you drive on the right
4 Answers
Besides what I seem to remember is Portman Square (certainly in that vicinity at the south end of a main road, please confirm or correct) which has a third lane where you drive against the traffic, which is the one people always mention in quizzes which also has a hotel in it where you drive up on the right?

The truth is that it is a cul-de-sac and there is very little moving space anyway, so it was simply more convenient to stop on the way in to the thoroughfare from the strand, drop your passengers off, then do a u-turn at the end to get out. Today I doubt you would really notice.
It's called Savoy Court, my office is on it. You don't really notice now as there is a taxi rank for 2 cabs which takes up half the road anyway but it is funny when you get people who don't know turning into the road and being faced by a queue of taxis waiting at the lights on the "wrong" side of the road.
