Does anyone know if Conveyancing Solicitors have to be registered with the law society like normal solicitors?

are you sure you dont mean licensed conveyancers ?

yup they have to be licensed as well.

since they only convey/conveyance the services are cheaper and possibly better

Oh yes, maybe that's what I meant! It's just that I've noticed that the firm acting for the person I'm buying a property off aren't registered on the law society website.
