I'm really keen to learn sign language but can't afford a college course. Anyone suggest any good sites or authors of books that show decent pictures so I can learn it? Thanks!

I see a fair amount of sign language when out on the road. Most drivers' vocabulary seems to be limited to one particular sign.
One dictionary type site on the american sign language is
http://www.masterstech-home.com/ASLDict.html
which has pictures of thousands of words.
Where I live sign language courses are free... Check with your local colleges you may find they're the same.

Have checked gazzawazza, and they want to charge me for it, and its not cheap! Also, thanks for the suggestion wildwood, but I was looking for UK sign language - although its generally supposed to be universal, there's often slight variations, so I'd like to learn the 'English' one if possible. Thanks!
I was on a site last week of UK sign language. You click on a word and it's signing pops up as an animated gif. Quite good if you got time or broadband to download them all. Sorry, I didn't bookmark it but I think my Google was
'sign language uk animated', good luck.
