How to find someone

I am looking for an old friend of mine. I know of the town he lives but not the address. I have looked in the phone book and he isnt listed maybe he hasnt got a bt phone?
I was just wondering if anybody knows of a way that i could find his phone number anywhere else on the internet. Any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance if anybody helps me!!!

Try the town council where he lives and ask them to look his name up on the electoral roll, which is in the public domain, you may find him there and his address

the electoral roll will be in the Town library. reference section, and the roll can be searched in person but the staff may not be able to loof for u.

most local papers also have a 'looking for lost pal/comrade' section.may be worth a try.

the name or school searches on friendsreunited is another great way of locating people

I just tried that to see if my name was on there and I am registered at my present address and also at my previous address along with the new owners.
