I have been waiting all morning for a delivery from BT to come, they said it would be here before 1pm.. okay, there are 10 minutes to go but its not looking hopefull. Why do these companies think you have nothing better to do than wait in. I know that they will have more than me to deliver to but i also know tht they do the deliveries in a certain order so they should at least be able to give a better delivery time than 7-1pm.. they shud narrow it down to a 2 hour slot.Grrrrrrrrr..moan over

This is a common gripe with any home delivery service, but if you think about it, if it was possible to work around a two-hour window, all firms would, because it wouls make them much more popular with their customers.

The 'before one' type system has evolved after long experience - based on the problems that can occur with making times any more restrctive, so yes it is really annoying, but if it could be done better, it would!

Just remember to save your temper for the people who mae the appointment, not the ppor eningeer who is already having a bad day, which is going to get worse - if he's late for you, he'll be late for all his afternoon appointments as well. Give him, and yourself, a nice cold drink, and take it easy, then ring up and make your feelings known to the powers-that-be.

i get the feeling tht u are a delivery man??
i do still think things could be done better or even if they cant they should be at least able to track your parcel so tht they can give you a rough idea, but when i suggest tht they contact the delivery driver or even his head office to find out his jobs for the day they say they have no idea and cannot find out, this I find very hard to believe.
Dont worry i never take it out on the delivery man because i know that most of the time he is the least informed.
I agree it makes my blood boil that they know most people have to work for a living and yet there are countless delivery companies and in this case BT who think you have all day to wait around for them to not show up.
If Supermarkets can deliver in a two hour time slot, why not other companies?
Granted that they have a smaller area to cover but travelling and how long it takes to actually deliver the goods is not taken into account when you place your order.

I have just called bt to ask them wht the situation was it took me 4 attempts to get through for them to tell me tht the parcel would be delivered before 8pm... then if i need any further help setting up the equipment i am to call them back... how ever the lines close at 8pm... therefore if the parcel comes at 8 and if I dont know how to set up I will have to wait till 2morro
its not that they think you have nothing better to do - they simply don't give a toss...if you want them to come round then you can blimmin well wait until they are good and ready is the general consensus with these people i think.

and i believe it is the engineers fault - i waited 3 times for one and when i compained the guy said he had banged on my door and got no answer - as i was sitting next to the doo this is a lie, i said he hadn't even been near and he said he had and that there was no answer at my black front door - my door is white... blatant lies

I am still waitin!! after further investigations it was parcel force who was meant to be bringing the package, i rang them to track the parcel and it was sent out of the depot at 4am this morning. So basically I have been sat in my front room listening for the door all day because I dint wanna miss it, on such a lovely day as well. im not a happy bunny to say the least!! Damn companies
you want to try ordering from Argos, bloody nightmare. I waited in all morning then they only delivered only half the parcel so i had to wait in the following day as well. All they did when i complained was pay back my delivery charge which was less thean 4.00 compared to the 50 i lost from my employer!!!
