OK so it's Mr Wilsarnie's birthday on Monday and I have bought him (and me obviously) flights to Amsterdam.
Problem is, the airline doesn't do tickets and I only have a email confirmation. I can't give him that for his birthday!
How can I jazz it up? I thought putting it in a BIG box that he has to unwrap and inside is an envelope with his email confirmation. Then I thought that's a bit cruel to get his hopes up for a big pressie....
maybe... if you've got rich text... you could liven it up a bit, different fonts, highlight words like Amsterdam in big red letters... print it out on heavy photo paper and put it in an envelope... it'd look a bit less humdrum than your standard email that way
but probably keep an ordinary plaintext copy to show at the counter)
My friend did the same for my birthday (booked us flights away), she wrapped a Dublin Guide book up, I was totally confused when I opened it, then it clicked, it also gives him the chance to read about where your going before you get there!

Have a great time, Amsterdam is fab!
I got my boyfriend a trip to Brussels one xmas, and made a brochure using text and pictures i had found on the net. I outlined what activities we could do, bars & restaurants we could visit and gave the details of our hotel.
