You should perhaps rephrase your question to ask WHAT is Gladys S. To explain, an author and playwright, Eve Ensler, wrote The Vagina Monologues. During research for her book she was asking women what they called their vagina. One replied 'Gladys Siegelman'. The book and subsequent theatre production were very popular and also received a lot of press. As a result the term Gladys Siegelman has now become a popular euphemism (especially in the USA) for the vagina.

I knew a girl called Gladys Siegelman who was so embarrassed by this that she changed her name to Virginia.
