My wife has started using a system of blue jobs / pink jobs ... changing a bulb = blue job ... tending to house plants = pink job ...you get the idea ... anyone else use it ?

Definitely not ! Try listing everything under pink then!
Is she bored or what?
Is that not a very sexist and odd way of doing things? I mean if you andf she are happy with that then that's fine, but if I compiled a blue list and a pink list of jobs, my wife would likely cut my k******s off and tell me I could do the pink one as well.

Bearing in mind we are now parents to a 7wk old bundle of poo, sorry, joy !! It works tho ... as you can imagine a lot "turns" out to be pink when a baby is involved ... !

But yes ... she does kind of a lot of time on her hands ... lets face it ... she gets to stay at home and watch daytime telly all day .. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (cue abusive response !!)
I see from parenting your`e a new dad, so I see where your`e coming from now. Blue jobs are you and pink ones her. I`ll tell you how it works here, the house jobs are mine, the gardenjobs are mine, the car jobs are mine. My husbands jobs
Because I work from home, my wife thinks all jobs are blue jobs except her "real" job...
How very 1950's! She'll be wearing crimplene next.

snap rojash ... but i end up away 3-4 days a week sometimes so you can imagine the build up of "blue" when i get back !! Especially with all the spiders & dd longlegs around at the mo ... got 32 dd's to get rid of tonight when I get home ... just in the bathroom !!
Hey if it works for them who are we to scoff? LOL

But no, Me n' Mr Boo don't do this method, whatever needs doin' get's done by whoever can be bothered ;-)

Congrats on the baby- what did you have?

finding that out ... but all regular stuff aparently ... one giggle or smile that isnt wind makes all the 4am grizzles so worth while ...
Yep, lol, I know it- mine is 21 months old now and can make me turn to mush just by grinning at me, pathetic aren't we? LOL

at the risk of sounding trite I guess it just means we had kids for ALL the right reasons ... not just some of them ...
Congratulations on the birth of your bundle of joy.
Blue and pink jobs eh ?....I think if I compiled a list of said coloured jobs for Mr S and myself ..world war three would break out. We have mucked in together for nearly 35 years .
I find this all a bit sexist .But ..if it floats your boat ...!!
I'm afraid I couldn't sit in the dark and wait for Mr.S to do a blue job on a light bulb !!

In fairness to the good lady ( who has just read this thread over my shoulder!) we work very well together ... its just that occasionaly a job crops up and it can be a case of its yours ... no its not its yours etc etc ... so just saying its a blue/pink job it takes the heat out the moment and we then do it !
-- answer removed --
what a pointless and ridiculous notion!

why not just do whatever job needs doing when it needs doing? just share them as they crop up!
I'm mulling over the possibilities presented by rendering the expression 'blue job' in broad Norfolk.
I hate pink: Mine are the blue jobs...

But seriously, my husband does more laundry and cleaning than I do, while if I wait for him to change a bulb, I could sit in the dark for a while...
