A site for prospective university students??

I've been looking for a site for freshers starting in 2003 but can't find anything useful. I was wondering if anyone knew of a site which you could contact other people in the same situation, as I'm hoping to study at Manchester Uni in September and don't know anyone else going!

The National Union Of Students recommends this http://www.uni4me.com but it's a bit dry. A couple of independent sites that try to tell it like it is, and should have better links and resources, and chat/ message boards where you can contact other people, are http://www.push.co.uk/ and http://www.studentuk.com/ .
