Amish people

i know this will seem a really stupid question, but after the shooting in pennsylvania i was wondering what Amish people are? i'm sure i sound very ignorant but its just something i have never known!

I first found out about the Amish people through the film "Witness" (it's a story about a 6-year-old Amish boy who visits a big city for the firsat time, and witnesses a murder). Harrison Ford played the police officer who was trying to protect him. Part of the story in the film involved PC Ford living in the Amish community in disguise for a period of time, and the film is a good documentary about the Amish lifestyle as well as being a thriller story. Make sure you watch the film if you get a chance because it's an excellent film anyway. It's been on TV a few times.
