Where is a good place to live in and around Ashford, Kent? Also, where would you recommend avoiding?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Hamstreet is very sweet as is Boughton Aluph and Ruckinge. We moved here a year ago and Trashford is to be avoided unless..... errr..... I cannot think of any reason why you would go there unless you are a commuter.
Even the International service is bypassing from next year and just running a skeleton service lol ;-)
Canterbury has far more to offer and is worth the drive.
When are you planning the move? are you buying?.....

Best to have a drive round and get the feeling of the villages within commutable distance. Hamstreet and Wye both have train services.
The bus services are very hit and miss so a car is needed or patience.
