I am trying to arrange either a day or a night out in London for me and about 12 of my friends. Can any of you give me any ideas of things that we could do? One of them has suggested the london dungeons, but wondered if there was something a bit more christmassy we could do? Any nice christmassy restaurants too? I'd be grateful for any help!!
You can't visit London near xmas without a trip to Hamleys...to lose yourself just for a while in that big toy store and dream of being a kid again.....is it a mixed outing or just male or just female...whats your budget....if all girls and budget no prob...then a day at champneys....or if mixed...could do the eye etc...or how about a show...mary poppins would be a good one...
Go ice skating at Somerset House. It's great fun at a superb location. Afterwards, you're just a 5 minute walk away from all of the bars and restaurants around Covent Garden: http://www.somersethouseicerink.org.uk/
PS: My favourite restaurant in Covent Garden, Bistro 1 (on Southampton Street) has an interesting Christmas menu , which combines their usual Mediterranean selection with traditional British Christmas food. (So there should be something for everyone, including veggies). 3 courses cost 16.90 (+ 10% service charge): http://www.bistro1.co.uk/xmas/Christmas%20Dinn er%20Menu.pdf
While you're in the vicinity of Hamleys, check out Liberty. You probably won't be able to afford anything, but it's like stepping back into Victorian London.
You could also check out Dickens' House on Doughty Street (short walk from the British Museum). They sometimes have readings there in the evenings, and I would imagine the Christmas ones would be themed.
Thanks for all your suggestions, some good ones there that i will look into!
It is a mixed group of boys and girls aged from 21 to 27.
We were looking to do something on 16th Dec.
