My parents want to buy some acres of land and build a touring site for caravans does anyone know where they would start ie:- what legal is involved

They would certainly need to get planning permission for "change of use". Even turning part of a field into a garden requires that!

Tell them to contact their Council PLanning Office. They are usually happy to help.

contact a solicitor and the land registry, they have all the knowledge
