I'm sure your dislike stems from the inherited memories of your ancestors, running in fear from the onslaught of highland warriors...Works both ways though, I recoil whenever I hear little bells jingling on little legs, and bits of stick being bashed together.

Or a more likely explanation is that it is just simply an awful sound. I mean truly truly awful.

Given the choice of chewing my own leg off or being stuck in a room with a piper, being a monoped would win every single time.

Yes bagpipes are atrocious but nothing quite turns the stomach like the sound of someone vomiting.

Bagpipes weren't meant to be played in a room but are a lovely sound when played out in the hills and you're 100 metres away! I remember a charity bagpiper getting into our bus and playing, I was sitting in the front seat...my ears haven't been the same since!

Personally I'm rather fond of bagpipes when played well and I'm English. As to anything worse then I'm sure there's a few records in the top 40 at the moment...

YES.morris bloody dancers and their music.try listening to a pipe band and you'll maybe think differently.better than a load of dancing pansies with bells attatched to them.
