I sometimes wonder how people choose there user names.I started to bank on-line and my choices of user name had been taken. I ended up with robber1 because robber was taken. I now use robber1 in two banks, KazAa, insurance quotes in fact everything that requires one. I now feel that it is a part of me. Why did you choose yours?

The night I discovered this site I was sat at my computer, much to the annoyance of 'er indoors, when she put her head round the door and said "question ..... what shall we do tonight ?"
My response ..........
I was given my nickname the night that I caused great offence to a Russian friend of mine. I'm not going to explain it but, if you are really interested, you can google for the answer.

Got given my name in the pub. I was always singing Del Shannons *Runaway*. Link to Italian soldiers. Link to Piero Strozzi (Italian soldier 1510 - 1558) son of Fillipo Strozzi the Younger. Educational, eh ?

I have noticed abigail9, that your name and Jacob are closely linked in AB.Nothing is "going on" is there?

Your answer strozzi, has justified me asking the question. What an answer!
There is nothing interesting or amusing connected with my username. It is my family name or, more correctly, the English spelling of it. I'm sorry if that is boring.

My mind is now full of thoughts about what could be comiing off. Starting to feel dizzy.Going for a lie down now.
My name has Russian connections, but not like Drochits. Priveet, pronounced preev-eh-et or preev-yet, is the Russian for hello in an informal sense, like the English Hi !
For those long time contributors to Answerbank this is not the opening gambit for a debate or argument but just a factual statement.
My username was spawned following the heated postings on this site after the unofficial (for you Ed.) answerbank convention last year when there was a lot of flack about the number of attendees.
My username is my commonly used nickname amongst my group of friends. It was created because of my habit of wearing a platform bra with a low neck top and because there are 2.2 pounds in a kilogram. Work the rest out for yourself.

WOW !!! I am going to lie down again.
From The Saint TV series in the 60s. Main character was Simon Templar. Kids were trying to call me Templarman but couldn't say it correctly and it became Templeman, which became my household name.
I heartily wish I had chosen a user name more carefully so I could impress with a story of intelligence and wit. However, just wanted something with a Scottish tone, am a female of the species and I am very good! I agree Abigail that Puddlewick may have been a risk with Jacob's play on words; I do hope he realises that you are a "consistent producer of well marked offspring with solid conformation" in case this doesn't match in with his plans and he decides to woo me instead! Drochit - all those references to mythical creatures/swiss bankers must have been familiar to you?!
I got my name from my guinea pig's names blended together. Betty + Wilma = BetWilm :D But Betty is no longer here :(
My christian name & surnames before and after marriage are quite unusual, so I didn't want to use those. Coggles is what my Mum & Dad called me when I was little. I also have another nickname but lots of people know that too, so Coggles seemed the best option! (but then you would know about that, wouldn't you betwilm.... ; )
