Nelli's off to St Mawes!

I'm on holiday tonight from 5:30 onwards, Yes me and my BF will be braving the Bank holiday traffic to drive from Bicester (Oxon) to St Mawes Cornwall. We are staying at the Ship & Castle Hotel, anyone know what it is like, and any good suggestion for things we can do whilst there. Also how can I avoid murdering my BF, through a 5 and half hour journey, (sedatives aren't really feasible)?

For a wee drive it's worth it to see: Lost Gardens of Heligan (near St.Austell) - needs half a day to look round. Also Eden project (near St. Austell) ditto half a day. Also Lands End at sunset - beautiful (but possibly about 1.5 hours drive from St. Mawes?)
