Just a idea. I keep reading about the shortage of workers in the manual trade area and thought of a possible solution. Advertise for maual labourers. get them working on sites for approx 6 months. (This shows some level of commitement) Next, offer to teach a manual trade(working as a assist.),for another 3 months. If they like what they are doing, they can switch from labourer to plumbers, brickes or plaster's assistant and continue to learn on the job. The aim is to cut down the time it takes to learn and address the shortage of workers,in the industry.
