Criminal Records

If someone (possibly me) has a criminal record in another country, for a smallish offence, will it be passed on to their own country or can we all just forget about it as the whole matter has been sorted out and we all just want to get on with having jobs and not having to put things down on disclosure forms.

The main problem is that you are asked to disclose criminal records, if you fail to do so you can be dismissed even years after. There are moves afoot to enable CRB to make global checks so you would need to be very careful. A criminal record would necessarily bar you from a job, why take the risk?

I suggest you ask a Law Centre. Your conviction could be spent or not be one you need to disclose.
