What are the nicest places to live in England? I know we'll all have our personal preferences but just imagine you'd only moved to England and someone said you could live anywhere, where would it be. I can think of Salcombe, Brighton, The Forest of Dean and York for myself.

Aldford. A little village just outside Chester. I WILL move there one day, I know it.... :o)
Croydon
Cotswolds, Forest of Dean, Central London, Isle of Skye, Edinburgh
Moog, I think you'll find that the Isle of Skye and Edinburgh are not even in England. Either learn some geography, or don't post any more ridiculous answers.
Ah, Buttermere - http://www.landandseaimages.com/Buttermere.jpg - in t'Lake District - http://www.newble.co.uk/pg/I35buttermere.jpg One day, one day...
..for me it'd be Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire at least it would be if it wasn't swamped with tourists like me wandering about and making life difficult for the locals!
anywhere near Borrowdale (Lake District). Malham (Yorkshire Dales). Monyash (Peak District). If i can pick a UK favourite then Ayr beats all of these for the views of Arran alone, and the quality of life, and i will be moving there when i get the chance
Knightsbridge.
woolacombe in north devon, beautiful 3 mile beach, excellent resturants including the new damien hurst resturant, good pubs and fantastic views, not to mention friendly people!!
