I was just wondering what was the record for the most babies born in one birth??

The guinness book lists septuplets (7) as the largest number of surviving children from one birth.

It also has an entry for the largest number of fetuses (15) though these were not carried to term.

The Guinness Book of Records also says that the most babies in one birth was
(a) ten (the most according to reliable reports)
(b) nine (the most in a case medically recorded)
(c) the most surviving were 7 out of 8, and a couple of cases of 7 out of 7.
The woman who was pregnant with 15 foetuses had them removed surgically, and would almost certainly have suffered a miscarriage anyway otherwise.
AFAIK, there have never been any surviving babies out of pregnancies of more than 8.
