sorry to post this here not sure where else to post it! my question is. my american girlfriend is currently working in qatar but to ring her i have to ring an american number wait for the dialling tone then a her number in qatar as she is in a military base i cannot ring direct, what i would like to know is will i get charged for the call to qatar or will it be the american number. im hoping it is the american number as its only 2p a minute with virgin media!!!

It's pretty well guaranteed that you'll only pay for the call to the US. Since she's in a military base, the call from US to Qatar will be making use of the US world-wide military communication network. (And mind what you say, your conversation is probably being noted somewhere along the line!) ;-)
