We worked together 10 years ago and I was mad at losing touch with her but often wondered what happened to her. I began googling , typing in key words such as tracing friends , reuniting with old friends etc and I left messages on various sites. There is a site called myoldmate.net where you can leave messages and if anyone knows of their whereabouts , they can e-mail you. There are various other similar sites where you can do the same. Try to put in as much info as possible , such as when you studied/lived together , description of her , where she originally lived etc. On your search in Friends Reunited , did you just search your college or did you do a search of the street where you lived too ? If you know where she lived originally you could search on her old street or even try a key search on her name to see what it churns up. I tracked down my friend on FR after months of searching and it's just like we never lost contact. Good luck and please let us know if you are successful x
Your library should have copies of all the phone books. Worth trying because even if your friend's no longer in the UK, theres a pretty good chance her parents will still be at the same address (of course, that assumes you knew what her home town was...)
Check if your college has an Alumni. Even if they haven't might be worth contacting them - if you get someone helpful they might be able to forward a letter to a previous contact address.
