How do I track down my Aunt?

How can I track down my Aunt? I know her maiden name and 1st married name (not sure if she'd remarried). I know her son's name and I think a recent street name. I've searched on Friends Reunited, but had no luck there, any suggestions without spending money?

Like I mentioned before, not sure if she's married so wouldn't know her name for sure, plus she lives in Manchester, whereas I'm near Birmingham, so don't have a phone book!

have you tried bt directory enquiries website? You should also be able to consult the electoral register; ask at your local library.

Try 192.com As far as I know they used to give you one search for free before asking for payment if you wanted to carry out more searches. I found a friend of mine from the Army because it listed his name and house number in a certain area. He was ex directory but 192 also listed his neighbours, some with phone numbers. I phoned his neighbour, explained who I was and he got his neighbour(my firend) to phone me. As you have a family name and a street name you might just drop lucky.

On the friends reunited website there is another link to a site called genes reunited. Try that. It's free and works on the same basis as friends reunited I think.

Try www.infobel.com/uk. They are free, and you can search for phone numbers and addresses nationally. You could also try just writing to her with the name and the street, and hope the postie knows the number. Does none of your family know her address at all? She may have quietly kept in touch with some...

Thanks everyone, through a sheer fluke I found an old e-mail address for her at her old workplace on the net by doing a search under her name. Contacted her work and they contacted her for me and she rang me last night!
