I've been asked by a female what side of the bed do i sleep on? When suggested it was a weird question she said that it wasn't daft as there was a reason. Am i missing the point, if so what's the reason?

Well, I always sleep on the left side of the bed & he on the right. That is until he snores so loudly & ends up in the guest room double bed!

I heard somewhere that men tend to sleep on the side of the bed nearest to the door, so that they can get up fast and protect their partner if an intruder attacks them. Something to do with prehistorical instincts of protecting the clan from wild animals !

Were you especially grumpy that day? Around here we have a saying, when someone is in a bad mood they say "I must've slept/woken up on the wrong side of the bed" Perhaps her inquiry was a fecetious (sp?) one?

how do you know which is the left or right side? Is it when you are sitting in bed or looking from the other end?

I once heard it was regarding whether you were a 'giver' or a 'taker' in bed relating to being left or right handed. I'm just made to sleep by the door in case someone breaks in (!), which suits me. Otherwise I always catch my leg on the bed walking round it half asleep, goin' for a burst in the night. F*c#in' hurts!
