have been drinking 2 bottles of red wine every week consistently for the past 10 years. Is that too much?? wife thinks it is

No, it's not too much.  I suppose that's about 12 units per week which is fine - and red wine is good for you.

 

Of course, if you were drinking your red wine in addition to loads of other alcohol, then that would be different!

Based on the assumption that the consumption is spread out over the time given then it is a safe amount......It's not however if it's consumed bottles at a time.....Red wine has fringe health benefits but these can be outweighed by the damage done if drinking to excess.

That would all depend on whether it is being drunk in conjuction with too many other alcohlic drinks.

Sounds OK  to me.You could always get a liver function test done by your GP at some stage just to make sure there has been no long term damage.

The psychological response.... if you need to ask the question - then your answer is Yes.....

(sorry if that sounds harsh ... i don't mean it that way!!)

 

Try going off it for 1 month.... if you can't .... then there's a problem

 

Of course its not too much. 2 bottles = 12 x a standard 125ml glass. Averages out at less than 2 glasses per day - assuming that you're not drinking two bottles all on the same day.
