What do they talk about?
23 Answers
In there street where I live there are a few people who day in, day out, sit out on the front chatting all day long right through to the early hours of the morning.
I go out to work at 7:20am and they're all out - sometimes in their p.j's, then I come home around 2:30 - 3pm and they're still there (maybe not for the entire day but they're there.)
This goes on and on, they flit from one house to the next but never go inside any of the houses.
Somedays they party, some days they chat, other days they're arguing up and down the street, knocking door to door with a petition to have an eviction order on one of their 'friends' that they've fallen out with, then two days later they're all friends again.
Yesterday, the weather was shocking and yet they were still out, with their umbrellas to boot!!
What could they possibly find to talk about all day when they don't have anything else going on in their lives?
I often wonder if it's a bit like when we were all at school, she said this, she did that, she's talking about so and so.... It's like they've never grown up.
I kind of resent paying taxes to fund thier idleness - maybe that's why it bothers me so.

Seriously Where the hell do you live , as i need to move down there as it sounds like party town to me ! lol! bet your up north ?
The estate I used to live on had exactly the same sort of folks living there!
It can be pretty annoying when they stay out all hours making a noise and leaving their mess behind.
Maybe they are talking about how to sponge more money out of the DWP,the best place to buy cheap cider, who to go to when they want knock off DVD's etc.
I know that was always part of what I could overhear from the ones on my estate.lol

4get, That's pretty much what they do all weekend and whenever I'm off for half term/end of term etc etc. You know, I'm not bothered what people get up to in their own time, but surely it's not acceptable to make everybody elses life hell, or am I missing something?
Daffy, I'm just so fed up of the noise more than anything. I try to get my babies to bed at a reasonable hour and they can't sleep because of the noise.
Lots of neighbours in the street are fed up of it. One guy decided to complain about the noise one night and they all ganged up on him screaming and shouting, telling him he should sell his house and move if he doesn't like it. :o/

Lore, can you and some of your 'normal' neighbours get in touch with your local council about the noise problem? The environmental Health Dept noise abatement officer is who you need to speak to.They will ask you to keep a log of all incidents over a short period of time, then they will send someone out to monitor the problem. If they feel there is excessive noise they will issue noise abatement orders to all concerned. If those orders are ignored court action can follow.

When they were trying to get one evicted, we had extended family members coming round threatening to kill the person if she didn't come outside, the bin got thrown across the street etc etc - so the police were called, but now they're all friends again. it's mental!
When the bin got thrown across the road, the woman who it belonged to sat on her wall just looking at it - two days it was there. Dirty mare!!
The noise can go on till all hours of the night. I could kind of understand if they were all young families. But at least two of them are older than me and I'm on the wrong side of 35!!
Anyway... I guess moaning about it isnt going to solve anything, I just wanted to know if anyone else knows what to do.
