One version of the dying words of Prime Minister William Pitt the Younger goes:'I could just eat one of Mrs Miggins' meat pies' - so we must assume she was an actual real pie maker of early 19th century London. Those smartbottom oxbridge types that write BBC comedy knew this, of course.
