Hi

This may sound weird but is it legal to date your cousin? My cousin recently told me he fancied me but I'm not sure if I fancy him as I'm not sure if it would be right to date. I told him this and he said it's different as I'm adopted so we are not blood related. Does this make any difference? Please help as I'm so confused. I've told my friends and they said it was fine as long as we didn't get married. Is this true?

I think even cousins are allowed to marry now, but not sure remember hearing something a while back! If you are not blood related then you avoid the DNA messed up kid.But probably jumping to far in advance there for you!
If you are adopted and there is definatley no chance that you are blood related then nothing is illegal in the eyes of the law.  I would be careful though as people can be very nasty about things like this and may frown upon it even with no right to do so.  Good luck in whatever you decide

Thanks guys for the advice I'll text him straight away and tell him xx cheers

Cousins CAN legally marry in the UK.  I suppose there must be a risk though of genetic problems in any children.  It did not used to be unusual in my grandparents' era 1900 - 1920 for cousins to marry and was totally accepted.
No problem here at all. You can marry - if you decide you want to go that far! And as you are adopted there's no risk of any kind. Do your pals know that you're adopted? I never keep my adoption secret. If they do, they would understand your relationship completely. All the best.
