Work Colleague Saving Money Cont.
7 Answers
In addition to my earlier question, as few of them now get trains, they keep asking to leave early so they can go out that night and if they get usual train it will be too late to get them to the pub/ gym etc etc - feel a bit annoyed as rets of us still have to work full day! Also many people are asking for lifts on way home as they get trains now (to save money!) but often this is out of my way. They seem to be liking the fact they dont have to pay petrol and run about at lunch but forget im doing it for them!!

I can't seem to be able to go a morning without about 3 cuppas and they must have picked up on this. As it was an open, it seemed rude if you had a drink without offering anyone else. The problem is that everyone else always said yes but you would die of thirst before they offered to make a round. In the end I did give up asking and just made a drink for myself (sometimes the girl next to me too). Whenever I got snide comments about why I didn't offer round, I would make a smart arse comment in return about them not having legs, etc. It eventually worked.
Bednobs answer is the best.
Let them ask and make a little comment about the extra petrol money.
It doesn't have to be a biggy. Or even something along the lines of next time you give a lift mention how expensive petrol is and you are thinking of not bringing the car or you can't afford to make detours now.
