Even if Islam turns out to have some resemblance to a "religion of peace", will that stop their nutters? Is there a parallel here with Nazi Germany?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.what we fail to grasp here is that the Muslims of the mid east see themselves as a brotherhood, that for the most part they are ashamed and outraged by what some fundamentalists do in the name of their religion. But there's an overriding feeling of 'you attack one of us, you attack us all' in the same way as if you fell out with your brother you'd still help him out in a barfight. I was in the mideast when Bush went into Iraq - believe me borders are seen with far less significance there than here.
The problem with the faithful of *any* religion is that it is, by definition, they are unreasonable.
The religious have closed their minds and decided that everything there is to know is already known and their particular prophet has already had the last word. Such BORING people.
And so susceptible to influence. It is because the religious are intellectually and philosophically bone lazy. The want their morality to be spoon fed to them.
Any day I have far more respect for a free thinker whose position I vehemently disagree with than any mindless, boring, lazy, religious devotee.
