what one book and one piece of music would you
wish for. I know you have something to play the music on, you already have that.

my book would be Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens
and the music The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughn Williams

The book would be Ulysses by James Joyce and the music Beethoven's No 9
Question Author
sandyroe, excellent choice, though i must say i got half way through Ulysses and gave up.
my book would be one by Ray Mears the survival expert and my music would be Ode to Joy
I am tempted to say - Playboy and Jilted Johns Greatest Hits but this isn't chatterbank so it would have to be The Lord of the Rings and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition
I'm with the ray mears book too.... music Cesar Franck Symphony in D minor
Here's the end of it. Well worth a listen

comfortably numb , pink floyd

aw now then, but i am heartened, perhaps not the right word, to see how many have plumped for classical music. I didn't say you would be stranded for good, but something to ease the lonely days and nights.

Im wondering how many went for classical music because it's sounds good and every so high brow darlink', when in reality they'd be taken Steps Greatest Hits, which incidentally i'd prefer too.

;-)
if your nicker elastic is strong enough i have no probs :)
Ezra Pound's Cantos (never sat on a beach long enough to really finish it! Sounds like the perfect opportunity...) and the music would be (assuming it can only be one track) Maybes by Mount Kimbie.

Spare
Question Author
you are off on a tangent again, classical music is for anyone, its not highbrow, just music. Doesn't mean to say that you can't like other types of music. I like jazz, blues, English, irish and scottish folk music, country and western. Its just i prefer to relax with something more suited to my mood, which is usually classical.
good for you em i'm chillin to the verve at present
