The Name in Which God All Nations Are Choosing to Walk
46 Answers
Millions of people claim to be godless, atheistic, not committed to any god. But they contradict themselves by worshiping a national god. Since the American Revolution we have heard much of “the goddess of Liberty.” Or, the god or goddess may be this thing called democracy, people rule. Or, it may be the bitter foe of democracy, namely, international Communism. People will adhere to these political principles with a tenacity that amounts to fanatical religious devotion. Besides, each of the nations guards jealously what it views as its “national sovereignty,” just as though it were a god that must not be violated or lost. In some nations many people idolize a strong military establishment that will give the nation a position of strength from which to deal with other nations. Concerning the modern-day “king of the north,” it was long ago foretold.

yes,People ancient and modern have had comparable activities, hopes, ambitions, and accomplishments. Even if in a human way, some individual made a notable name or was outstanding in beauty or ability, where is that person now? Gone and probably forgotten. That is not being morbid. Most people cannot even name their great-grandparents or tell where they were born and buried. You can see why Solomon realistically saw vanity in human undertakings and efforts.—Ecclesiastes 1:9-11
True,An estimated 300,000 young people were attracted to the American West Coast’s largest “rock” festival, which was held east of San Francisco. Mick Jagger, leader of the Rolling Stones and organizer of the festival, was thoroughly disgusted by the time the one-day festival ended. Four persons died at the festival: one was stabbed to death, one drowned, and two were run over by automobiles. Hundreds were treated for drug overdoses. Some spectators and musicians were roughed up. Said Jagger: “It was supposed to be lovely, not up-tight. What happened? What went wrong? If Jesus had been there, he would have been crucified

Rehearse the articles of your belief :
I believe in logic and reason and the evidence of my own eyes and senses, and in the evidence of thinking people whom I trust.
Did anyone make promises on your behalf before you were of an age to understand them for yourself, which you consider binding ?
No. If promises are to bind me, I make them myself, in the fullest possible understanding of what I am accepting.
Do you accept commandments ?
I accept these: Obey the law. Do no hurt. Live as worthily as if there were a heaven or a hell, whilst knowing that there is surely neither.
Do you believe in prayer, sacraments, scriptures, grace, rituals, fasting, worship, penance, articles of faith, salvation, sacrifices, martyrs, saints ?
No. I truly believe that all these are superstition; living without these makes me free.
Who tells you what to believe ?
Nobody. I read, I study the beliefs and opinions of others, I analyse and compare, and I reach my own conclusions.
Do you not fear death ?
No. But if I did, whatever religions might offer me would not remove it.
What outward signs do you display of your beliefs ?
The cheerfulness of knowledge that I bear no burden of undeserved guilt.
