Building industry is in the doldrums so there is very little work for in that industry. Several large home builders have gone to the wall.

Electricians and some other trades can get work in the mines. The pay rates are phenominal but you have to work long days for two weeks straight. Then you get a week off and are flown back to civilisation.

If you can stand to live in the provided accomodation and eat the provided food it can be cheap living. If you want a private house and your own food forget it because rent and food prices are in proportion to the pay.

Drug and alcohol test are performed daily.

Work is mostly in remote desert areas of Western Australia.
