There was an article on the news the other day about a man who was out rambling naked and got arrested. Quite right too i say. What I want to know is what is the point of it all? What do people get out of going on a special holiday just so they can go around with no clothes every day? I think it must be a mixture of exhibitionism and voyerism.

Clearly, some places are worse than others to get sunburnt. However, nothing is quite so bad or debilitating as the soles of the feet...
What do streakers do in nudists camps ....explain them selves
Naturism isn't only about sunbathing and outdoor activities in the summer. In its purest form it's anytime and anywhere; housework, gardening, cooking etc. (although take care when frying!)
We use clothes like tools, to keep us warm, cool, dry whatever. When we do'nt need them we do'nt wear them.
Ouch Mark!
the people who view it as very wrong are the people who cannot differentiate sexuality and nudity and view the naked body as having only one main purpose - sex.
the fact that all sexual organs have more than one function, the other being wholly non sexual seems to not figure in their mind.

so really who is the person most most worry some...the person who can walk around all day naked and not feel sexual, or the one who has it so ingrained in their psyche that they cannot perceive of the totally natural naked human body in any other way that a sexual one?

it is also nothing to do with showing off their bodies for admiration - why on earth would it be? they aren't pretty enough so should be banned?
that is kind of a simplistic and ignorant way of looking at it.
i also imagine most of the complainers are totally happy if someone has a tiny triangle of cloth covering their bits...
the person is still practically naked.

i dont particularly want to look at naked people either - but neither do i want to look at orange blinged up chavs, scruffy scallies in trackies, or stuffy old business men in suits - but i certainly would try to stop them.

in general we have enough hangups about sex and bodies as it is, why force yours on other people?
Theres a nudist camp near where I live. At school it was compulsory to try and 'take a peek'. I recall a Sunday afternoon spent walking around miles of 8 ft larchlap fencing to no avail.

Allegedley they used to 'grease the trees' up around the outskirts to stop hopeful voyeurs from shinning up them for a better vantage point.

thats part of the point 10 clarion

they know very well people take offence - their point is they shouldn't ... and if they do - so what? they have no right to inflict their views on other people and prevent them from doing what they want to do - something that is harming no-one and is natural

i don't like lots of things other people do - some of them offend me - but if they are minding their own business and not hurting anyone, i wouldn't dream of expecting them to stop or having the cheek to even demand it... because i recognise that my offendedness is my own problem, not theirs...
i'm a naturist when i'm on ab. i unclothe especially.
Ankou - do you realise you've left your webcam on? You're pretty fit, but why don't you take that funny hood off?

Actually, there isn't much of a naturist movement in countries where public nudity is normal - the whole thing is a product of our Victorian morality and current mores.
My only problem with the naked rambler is the amount of money he has cost the taxpayer over the years. He seems to be more interested in making a point that the actual naturism. I have no problem with people going without clothes, but there's a time and a place - lots of circumstances require different dress codes, if you can be banned from Tesco for wearing your jammies then it shouldn't really be ok to always go round in the buff either.

I will always remember walking innocently on the shoreline and realising that had strayed into the nudist beach in Brighton. One fellow fixed me with his eyes and just stared at me, almost to make sure that I didn't look at his bits. It was very weird.
