Don't panic, We still have some time left. So go for you this year's xmas shopping list. Do one thing. Just buy everything for Xmas on credit cards and then look at the brighter side that if it does happen then you will not have to pay all that back.

Jake, it won't - that date is the end of the Mayan calendar, but as with out calendars, when one ends, another starts. The next calendar will start on Dec 22 - don't worry about it.

The reason the Mayan calendar ended was the conquistadors killed them off. End of world for them. If it does end end it will by cataclysmic and we won't even know it so do t worry

The first time I can remember an end of the world prediction was back in the 60's and since then there's been one every year or so. Of course the world will end on that day for thousands of people but the old mud ball will keep spinning for a few million years yet.

The world will end but not for around 2 Billion years yet.
That will be when the Sun has used up it's Hydrogen and starts to expand into a Red Giant. Earth will probably be swallowed up inside the Sun as the Sun will become so large it will extend beyond Earths orbit.
So don't worry about it .

Trust me, I am 84 and in spite of all I am still alive and kicking (well, alive anyway). I was, I admit, quite apprehensive the first time but that was round about 1944 and I have heard it many times since. You have been given a life, enjoy it.
