I don't believe in God and I don't accept the theory of the big bang. Yet I find it extremely difficult to believe in nothing. What do you believe in? Do you pray to something other than a God? Are you a believer? Our is there nothing but this?

I believe in 'The Sky At Night'. Sir Patrick Moore is an inspiration !
237sj, well at least you now know where to look when nobody can be bothered to answer your questions..
ooOOooh ! get you !
Kindly retract your claws, AP, and return to your saucer of milk.
237sj - you need the original, by its composer - George Benson.
the one where they are in acasino with the karate kid music playing
Empirical observation and the Lord's Prayer ? Have faith and pray to your own God !

empirical
that post of mine was in the wrong thread sorry
Only by being close to someone who died did I think about this. "God is with me" were the final words (something like that) but they died ! Even if you didn't believe for all your life what would you think in those final few moments ?
I believe in me.

And saw my face, now I'm a believer, not a trace, of doubt in my mind.
I don't believe in any God but do accept the big bang theory. I do not fully understand how the 'big bang' happened/happens just as I accept that it is gravity that prevents me from flying off into outerspace. It makes a lot more sense than the unsubstantiated contradictory teaching the Theists believe.
//Are you a believer?//

No. I have no reason to believe.

//Do you pray to something other than a God?//

No. What would I pray to?

//If I see galaxies flying away from each other I believe they were once closer together and still closer earlier//

^^ Jake has given the simplest and most rational evidence for the ‘Big Bang’.

//I just don't accept the BBT as you call it, no reason offered.//

I don’t understand how anyone can make a definitive decision on anything without reason. If you don’t know, you can only say you don’t know.
I don't think there is a direct connection with belief and knowing. One can make a selection one feels comfortable with in the face of insufficient evidence to convince.
sandyRoe at 22.01.

I am constantly baffled how people can believe in the utter absurdity shown in her post. They have this blind faith even though there is not one iota of proof of the exisitence of a god. Nothing. Nada.
sandyRoe, why on earth do you imagine that it adds anything to a discussion like this to quote chunks of the bible? Do you not have a mind and a voice of your own?
Chakka, I agree. I don't know why people think that somehow adds weight to their argument.
Nice one, Sandy.
absolutely nothing, no God, no afterlife, no somewhere over the rainbow, just darkness, the end.
Didn't you quote it in Latin the last time rather than the vernacular, Sandy? You haven't gone all aggiornamento on us, have you? Can't rely on anything these days.
Chakka35, I, and others who answered, were asked what it was we believed. The Creed is a pure distillation, the essence, of my faith.
Incidentally, it's not a chunk of the Bible.
