I was meant to be getting a parcel which was posted late on thursday, it has a tracking number and since thursday the tracking has been saying"Item *** was posted at ***** on 12/07/12 and is being progressed through our network for delivery."

It is saying this on both parcel force's and Royal mail website.
Like other parcels does the status change to "At sorting office" "Out for delivery" or does it stay at this same status until it reaches you?

( I have since found out after emailing ParcelForce that it's in Royalmails hands, I've phoned the royalmail 0845 number which let me talk to a customer services lady who could only tell me what was already known by me and today it was just an automated service.

Does anyone have any helpful numbers or emails so I can complain and get them looking for my parcel as it is for someone who is leaving this country on Friday so I'm very worried.

have you tried using the on-line assistant on the Royal Mail website ? - scroll down the page and enter your question .

Also have you tried getting in touch with the sender to see that they have got your full and correct address.
Is the tracking number correct ? - it's normally given to the sender - the one who pays the postage .
I hope this helps and best of luck with finding your item .
