I notice some Scots type on the internet type in their dialect eg; using 'nae' for no etc etc.

Maybe everyone should start typing in their own dialect to stamp their own provincial individuality on every thread.

of course you'll notice I'm from the south and this is how words appear in the manner of correct pronunciation.

Wots that octavavius on about ?. Is he saying there should be no regional accents ?
Sorry, come again?
It's fine as long as the point you're making is clear. It's only pompous twits that get snotty about grammar, spelling, slang etc.
.......And if anyone wants to get nasty about Burns....Ah'll pit the heid on ye
You are obviously very intelligent octavius, but do you have the nous to enjoy dialects
That I do owhamer, that I do.
//tonyav Where abouts Ron if yo doh mind me asking ah kid yo doh afta be specific.//

Aldridge mate.

Ron.
My puter keeps wanting me to type in American!
OMG that would be totes amazeballs to speak in American.
lol < said with a British accent >
It's a shame that Snafu mucked up the grammar though, a right snafu of it, in fact.
I generally only use dialect for humorous effect - obviously, that sometimes misfires!
I'm actually quite good at recognising accents, having lived in various parts of the UK and with relatives spread around the country. A stint working in London many years back, and now regularly visiting the capital to see the grandchildren Hes exposed me to many OUK accents.
The British one that completely foxed me was a colleague from the Welsh side of the Bristol Channel, very West Countryish.
Anyway, if someone posts anything I can't penetrate, I'd simply ask for clarification if I felt Ineeded to know badly enough.
Devedhys ov a Kernow, A wre'ta kewsel nebes Kernewek?
Hey Ron, just seen your reply, I am about 2 miles from you. Nice place Aldridge.
Thank you, DT, for that illustration, I will need a translation. Isn't it, though, a different (celtic) language altogether?
To reply, DT.
Lucky you, being from Cornwall. And no, I don't speak Cornish. (In the Highlands, they ask if you "have the Gaelic").
